THE HISTORIC MELROSE
The Melrose Theatre opened in 1942 and has a storied history of delighting movie-goers and creating long lasting memories.
TODAY, HOUSED IN THE SAME SPACE
Sinema aims to keep that tradition alive. The guest experience is inspired by the history of the theater: the architectural design, the patrons, and the stars who graced its big screen.
SHELBY BRIGGS
SINEMA EXECUTIVE CHEF
Shelby Briggs joined Sinema as the Executive Chef after most recently filling the same role at the Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, MD, and previously, Chef De Cuisine at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, FL. Briggs brings her culinary expertise and knowledge of international cuisine to Sinema’s kitchen through the seasonally updated menu.
The menu draws from Chef Shelby’s experiences and influences from studying in Italy and Southeast Asia. She has blended the inspiration she has gained from her studies and travels worldwide with a refined menu approach, providing guests with an elite culinary experience.
Chef also celebrates the history and tradition of Sinema’s space, leading and working with our passionate and creative team to give our guests a superb and unforgettable experience.
Since Chef Shelby’s relocation to Nashville for this role, she looks to Music City for additional inspiration as she connects with the culinary community here. As Sinema’s Executive Chef, she continuously strives to build upon our vision of providing exemplary dishes and a comprehensive guest experience while encouraging a rewarding team environment for our staff.
SINEMA’S COCKTAIL PROGRAM
Spanning over 150 years of craft libations, the menu includes a rare whiskey program with over 200 selections, thoughtfully selected wines and craft beers curated by our Beverage Director & Sommelier, Brett Nelson.
Whether you're looking to have a mid-week dinner, celebrate a special occasion, or host a red-carpet private dining experience, Sinema takes guests back in time with an opulent and nostalgia-inducing atmosphere, timeless dishes, and unrivaled service.
Our space features two levels of dining space, including a bar and private dining areas. The décor, developed by Anderson Design Studio, is a combination of preserved elements of the original building and modern, custom design. The grand lobby, including the curved staircase, has been restored and complemented by exposed brick walls, cozy velvet tufted booths, and legendary music photography by Robert Knight and Mary Ann Bilham.
